Dave Reynolds is a Pittsburgh native with a Bachelor’s Degree from Occidental College in Los Angeles and a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) from Columbia University in New York. Additionally, he is certified by the National Board of Public Health Examiners. Dave is the Project Director for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL)’s A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® Institute in the Pacific Southwest Region where he oversees the programs’ day-to-day operations. The Institute houses ADL’s anti-bias education programs, including those related to bullying and cyberbullying. Dave serves as a Commissioner to the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Commission on Human Relations, Diversity and Equity and represents ADL on the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission’s Anti-Bullying Coalition.

Dave joined ADL from The Village Family Services where he served as the inaugural department head and helped launch their Drop-In Center for at-risk and homeless youth in the underserved San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. At The Village, Dave also served as a trainer for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health-funded cultural competency training program “Project Q” which trained providers on working with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth.

Dave served as the first Project Director for the Safe & Healthy LGBT Youth Project at Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) Network--an education and advocacy program linking young people with resources and advocacy to combat bullying and create safer schools in large cities' and states' educational districts. This Project was funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions’ Division of Adolescent and School Health. Before joining GSA Network, Dave spent four years at The Trevor Project, initially as the East Coast Call Center Manager, then Advocacy and Education Manager and finally Sr. Public Policy and Research Manager— attending to the suicide prevention organization’s growing programs and priorities. Those areas included opening their New York City office, building their anti-bias and mental health education programs, pursuing research opportunities, launching their advocacy and public policy initiatives, and community engagement in new areas across the Unites States. While completing college, Dave held an internship at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), constructing their “HIV and AIDS @ 25” Media Resource Guide, which led to his career goals around building safe and healthy pluralistic communities. Dave is a regular public speaker at events across the country and has published articles, presentations and training curricula for educators and service providers.
