Andreas J. Meyer is the President of the Board of Directors of Equality California, the largest statewide LGBT equality organization in California. The youngest president in Equality California's history, Andreas has also served as Board Secretary and Audit Committee Chair. Additionally, Andreas is the founder and President Emeritus of the Orange County Lavender Bar Association, a professional association of LGBT attorneys based in Newport Beach, California, and the Steering Committee Chair of the M. Katherine Baird Darmer LGBT Equality Scholarship Fund. Professionally, Andreas serves as University Counsel and Assistant Secretary to the Board of Trustees of the University of Southern California. He provides legal counsel to USC in various areas including governance, corporate law, tax, mergers and acquisitions, conflicts of interest, and bond financings. As the Assistant Secretary, he is also responsible for overseeing the preparation and maintenance of corporate records and actions for the university’s board, committees, and subsidiaries.
Prior to joining the USC legal department, Andreas practiced in the securities regulation and corporate governance practice group at the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Andreas earned a B.A. in political science, magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was a Clarence Darrow Scholar and an editor of the Michigan Law Review.
